Meet the Doctors
Edward McGonigle
Dr. Edward McGonigle is a general dentist who focuses on delivering comprehensive care to each of his patients. He graduated from the University of Illinois School of Dentistry in 1966, and he subsequently completed a two-year residency in the United States Air Force.
For over 40 years, he has served patients throughout the Tinley Park area. Dr. Edward believes that it is his personalized approach to care, advanced training, and his dedication to detail that distinguish his practice from others. He enjoys getting to know each of his patients, and derives great satisfaction from seeing them achieve their dental health goals. Dr. Edward is also a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Chicago Dental Society, and the Illinois State Dental Society.
Dr. Edward's personal commitment to practicing exceptional dentistry shines through in the smiles of each patient in his care.
Robert McGonigle
Dr. Robert McGonigle is part of a tradition of dental comfort and care. After graduating in 1987 as Co-Valedictorian at Loyola University School of Dentistry, he completed a hospital-based general practice residency at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago.
Dr. Rob has dedicated his professional career to providing you with the best that dentistry has to offer. He is continually educating himself and his staff on the newest techniques and approaches in order to provide you with advanced, state-of-the-art, comfortable, and personalized dental care. Dr. Rob is a sustaining member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is currently pursuing accreditation. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Chicago Dental Society, and the Illinois State Dental Society.
He has been happily married to his high school sweetheart, Peggy, for more than 20 years. He even gets to see her at work, as Peggy works the front desk at McGonigle Dental Associates! Together, Peggy and Dr. Rob are the proud parents of two college students, Dan and Maggie.

Because every aspect of your dental experience is important to us, we have a number of amenities to make our office feel more like home. We have blankets, pillows, warm scented towels, flatscreen TVs in our treatment rooms, and a DVD library to keep you comfortable and entertained throughout your visit. Your comfort is one of our priorities!
Kid-Friendly Dentistry
We understand that many children feel scared or uneasy about dental visits, and we always treat our younger patients with extra sensitivity and care. Our friendly and gentle manner will help your child feel at ease in our care, and having a positive dental experience during childhood can encourage a lifetime of good oral habits. We strive to make your child’s dental visits comfortable, educational, and most of all, fun! We have a children's play area with books and toys, TVs in each treatment room, and free surprises for our little patients!
A Clean & Safe Practice
Do you worry about the cleanliness of your dentist’s office? We understand your concern, which is why we go above and beyond the American Dental Association (ADA) and OSHA recommended standards for a clean and safe dental practice. We have a dedicated area with state-of-the-art sterilization technology where every instrument is sterilized and made ready before your visit. We also sanitize each room between patients so you can rest easy knowing that your safety and comfort are our top priorities.
Thorough Patient Consultation
We empower patients to make informed decisions for their oral health. After thoroughly examining your dental condition, we will consult with you about your diagnosis and treatment options. We even have an intraoral dental camera to show you what we see in your mouth. We always make sure we are fully informed about your medical history, current medications, and other factors that might affect your dental care.
Training & Continuing Education
Much has changed in the more than 40 years we've been in business. One thing that has not changed is our commitment to professionalism and continuing education. We are fully trained, skilled and certified to provide you with the best possible dental care. Every member of our team fulfills his or her responsibility for continuing education by attending dental conventions, seminars, and lectures. We want to stay up-to-date and informed on new equipment and treatment techniques to learn how to better care for you and your family.
